KS 1 was converted from KT 320 in 1957 by removing the pulpwood dividers and adding side plates to the bulkheads.KS 2 - 6 were new "bodies" attached to IY underframes. KS 7 was a stretched KT that was briefly coded IT | |||||||||||||||

ABOVE: KS 6 was different to the other KS's, it was fitted for "hardwood" transportation. In later years it was in normal scantling service as shown here in at Dandenong Feb 1978. KS 6 entered service March 1959, scrapped March 1979.
KT 357 was lengthened by approx 4 feet, it was briefly coded IT 252 before being coded KS 7 in March 1973, KS 7 was scrapped Dec. 1977.
